The Miles SDK supplies several example programs for DOS. To create these examples, you can simply run the Debug.BAT or Release.BAT in the source directory.
The DOS example files are found in the \src\examples directory. There are examples of digital audio playback, MIDI playback (hardware based and DLS), DSP filters, and more.
